The Kids in Charge (KIC) program is offered in all West Bloomfield School District elementary schools to children from 1st to 5th grade. Students are educated about dangers and health risks of cigarettes, alcohol, and drugs. Apart from teaching kids the hazards of these substances, they are also instructed on how to effectively, assertively, and confidently say no to peer pressure. The KIC program has helped significantly reduce drug use rates throughout West Bloomfield.
Want to Help?
KIC is supported by volunteers to devote much of their time visiting schools to teach children the hazards of using drugs. If you’re interested in volunteering, or if you’d like to learn more about the program, contact Lisa Kaplan at firstname.lastname@example.org.
